Leeds Festival 2011 set to be best yet

Leeds Festival, held just a stone’s throw from one of the UK’s most up and coming cities, is one of the most popular music festivals the country has to offer avid music fans, and this year the festival is offering music lovers something a little bit special, with the chance to land a spot on the bill at the festival being offered to a number of rock n roll hopefuls.

A total of 12 acts from across West Yorkshire will battle it out next week in the Centre Stage Competition, with the judges on the panel set the task of picking the top act to appear alongside the world famous music acts booked for headlining the festival.

This year’s festival, held during the August bank holiday weekend, is going to be one of the biggest and best in recent years. On the Friday, Muse and Elbow will be headlining, with support from the likes of Friendly Fires and Interpol. The following day, My Chemical Romance will be leading the invasion of the American bands, with The Offspring, Deftones, and New Found Glory appearing alongside smaller acts such as Noah & The Whale. The final day of the festival will be rounded off by Pulp, The Strokes, Jimmy Eat World, Madness, and The Pigeon Detectives, with Jane’s Addiction sure to be a massive pull on the NME stage.

With a range of comedy acts the likes of which make vic and bob look entirely unfunny and live performances also booked for the weekend, it’s easy to see why those with tickets are the subject of envy from music fans across Europe.
